Electronics and digital devices giant Samsung has opened an IoT Academy at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), which will drive digital learning skills and innovation in the Internet of Things, it said.
Minister of Higher Education, YB Dato’ Seri Idris bin Jusoh, who officiated the launch of Samsung IoT Academy in Melaka, said, “The partnership between UTeM and Samsung Malaysia is opportune. It is an excellent example of public-private partnership that leverages on the expertise of academia and industry to drive technological development and innovation.”
“This is also in line with the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013-2025 in which the Government aims to leverage on ICT to scale up the quality of learning for students,” said Idris. “I believe the Academy is well designed to cultivate the next generation of innovators to support the Government’s vision of a knowledge-driven and high income nation.”
